Health & Safety Policy

Footlight Studios takes seriously their responsibility to ensure the safety of their students

  • Parents/Carers must complete a Registration Form when joining the school with clear information regarding emergency contacts and relevant medical history

  • A copy of primary and emergency contact numbers will be kept on class registers

  • It is the parents/carers responsibility to notify Footlight of any changes to their emergency contact details

  • In case of a fire emergency teachers have a clear understanding of procedures to follow

  • Footlight will undertake regular risk assessment regarding the premises used

  • Footlight will ensure staff have access to a fully equipped First Aid Box

  • In case of an accident or incident an accident report will be completed, and a copy given to parent/carer on collection

  • If required Footlight will contact the emergency services first, then the parent/carer of the student(s) involved via the given numbers on the class registers

  • Parents/Carers understand that dance is an active sport and injuries can happen. Footlight accepts no responsibility for injuries sustained via any other means than a teacher’s negligence

  • Pupils will be supervised during class time only. Parents/Carers must ensure the safety of their children in all other areas. Toilets corridors etc.

  • Students/Parents/Carers should inform the teacher of any special health considerations or injuries before participating in class

  • Parents/Carers must be responsible for ensuring your child’s punctuality

  • Dress code must be observed at all times, especially footwear for safe dance practice

  • Only indoor dance shoes should be worn inside the studio to protect the floor and for health and safety reasons

  • Shoes must be worn when using the toilets

  • Students should not wear any jewellery that may pose a risk to themselves or others (jewellery worn for religious or cultural reasons is acceptable)

Covid-19 Update

As well as our usual Health & Safety policy, we have the following additional measure in place to ensure we are following government guidelines and keeping our students and team safe.

  • Students and staff will wear masks at all times (excluding water breaks)

  • Students and staff will be socially distanced to 1 metre + at all possible times

  • All touchpoints, e.g., ballet barres, light switches, door handles etc., will be wiped down regularly as well as between class changeovers

  • Windows will be kept open to encourage air flow and ventilation

  • Students must not come to class if they are experiencing any Covid symptoms

  • If you have been in contact with anyone with symptoms or a positive test please follow government guidelines

Payment Policy

Payment Policy


  • Lessons are invoiced once booked and must be paid by/on the invoice due date


  • Payment can be made by bank transfer or cash (information will be given on invoice)


  • Payment plans can be discussed on an individual basis if required*

  • All invoices will be sent via email

  • Receipts will be given for all payment either via email or in person and a copy kept by Footlight​

  • Classes cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances will not be refunded, they will instead be rescheduled 


Private class prices start at £25 per hour for one student plus £5 per additional student (maximum 4 students)

Terms

Classes run during term time, and there are three terms in our academic year. Classes will not run on bank holidays.
